Building a Buzz for Urban Pollination

Beeproject Apiaries founders Lindsay and Chris sought our help to create a visual brand identity that reflected their commitment to eco-conscious practices. We worked with them to build a strong, impactful brand that highlights their focus on innovation and sustainability, boosts their market presence and connects deeply with their values and vision.

She stands beside an open beehive, dressed in casual attire with a branded 'Beeproject' t-shirt, engrossed in the health and activity of the hive. The urban setting features a gray building backdrop, highlighting the unique rooftop location of their apiaries which symbolize their innovative approach to urban beekeeping and sustainability.Founder Lindsay of Beeproject Apiaries is pictured inspecting a honeycomb frame on a rooftop in Winnipeg. Time for a Hive Makeover

In 2017, Lindsay and Chris of Beeproject Apiaries faced a branding challenge. They needed a consistent and sustainable visual identity to reflect the eco-conscious ethos of their urban beekeeping and pollination education business.

Since our partnership began, we've completed over 25 brand activations, helping Beeproject define and expand their influence in Winnipeg and beyond. When we spoke with Lindsay and Chris, Chris explained why he initially approached our studio.

“We basically needed to be sat down and explained the importance of branding.”

Buzz-worthy Branding and Partnerships

Our collaboration began with a brand audit to identify the strengths and potential of Beeproject's brand.

From this groundwork, we created distinctive jar seals, banners and hive signage that clearly communicated their mission and impact.

Recognizing the importance of corporate sponsorships for their growth, we developed a compelling proposal for their Urban Pollination Project.

This strategic document attracted high-profile clients like Canada Life and the City of Winnipeg, significantly broadening Beeproject's reach. Lindsay recognized the critical role of cohesive branding in their success, stating:

“Had we not started working with you, I don’t think our business would have grown the way that it did.”

Design Drives Growth

Our design work paid off as Beeproject's revenue grew, with over 50% of profits coming from hive services and 45% from honey sales.

The improvements we made to brochures, signage, and custom labels not only increased sales but also enhanced Beeproject’s professional image.

In 2019, we designed a pop-up market space for Beeproject, helping them engage directly with consumers and educate them about the environmental benefits of their bees. This, along with launching an e-commerce platform, created a strong online brand that transformed their business presence.

“Your work has brought us a cohesiveness that has allowed us to build commitment with our clients. It elevates our level of professionalism.”
