Empowering Ongoing Conversations About Sexuality

Sexual education shouldn’t stop after high school—it’s an ongoing conversation that evolves with culture and society. To bring this mission to life, Ongoing needed an identity that would spark dialogue and break down the barriers around sexuality education.

In the world of sexuality education, having the right tools to foster open dialogue is crucial. Ongoing, a sub-brand of Sexuality Education Resource Centre of Manitoba, sought a visual identity that would empower educators to confidently lead conversations around sex and sexuality.

To bring this mission to life, Little Ghost Creative partnered with UpHouse to design a visual identity for Ongoing that would embody the openness, inclusivity, and empowerment that the brand stands for.

The Need for Change

Sexuality education doesn’t stop at the classroom door. With Ongoing, SERC aimed to create a brand that reflects the continuous and evolving nature of sexual education.

As service providers increasingly became responsible for educating others on sexuality, Ongoing needed a brand that could inspire confidence, foster open dialogue, and empower educators to take charge of these essential conversations.

A street poster attached to a display box, showing a woman with an empowering stance and the text "Let's Talk About It." in green. The poster promotes sexual education as a right, with the Ongoing branding and a call to action to learn more.

Designing for Dialogue

We focused on creating a visual identity that could embody Ongoing’s mission to keep conversations about sex and sexuality open.

A LinkedIn post from "Ongoing" promoting sexual education for service providers. The post emphasizes that as society changes, so does the need for updated information about sexuality. The visuals feature bold green text that reads: "Sex Ed for Sex Ed Providers. It's Ongoing." along with the Ongoing logo at the bottom.

At the heart of the design is the speech bubble motif, representing ongoing dialogue. This symbol anchors the brand, inviting educators and learners alike to engage in meaningful conversations that continue long after formal education ends.

Expanding the Palette

In expanding SERC’s colour palette, we wanted to inject energy and inclusivity into the brand while maintaining consistency with its roots.

The bright, vibrant hues chosen for Ongoing symbolize openness, warmth, and accessibility—key values for any brand focused on sexuality education. The result is a visual identity that feels modern, bold, and inviting.

Empowering Educators

The goal of the Ongoing brand was to provide educators with the tools they need to confidently lead discussions on sexuality.

We extended the identity across various touchpoints, from custom-branded condoms to educational materials, ensuring that service providers felt equipped to normalize and facilitate these conversations in both professional and personal settings.

Bold and Inclusive Design

From typography choices to graphic elements, every aspect of Ongoing’s identity was designed to be bold yet approachable.

We balanced strong, modern typography with playful, organic patterns and icons to create a brand that’s unafraid to tackle tough topics while remaining inclusive and supportive. The speech bubble patterns and graphic elements further reinforce the brand’s commitment to open, ongoing dialogue.
